And believe it or not a rebound relationship can be a key to getting your ex back. Most people will take part in a rebound relationship to deal with losing the other. Who's fault it is doesn't really enter the picture, it doesn't even matter…. what matters is the connection that you two have together.
What is a well known fact: any relationship founded on real love more than likely can be saved… it will take work… it will take an emotional up-and-down roller coaster ride. But it can work.
If your girlfriend takes part in a rebound relationship, no doubt she will focus on what was wrong with the relationship with you. She's liable to hang out with what's known as a bad boy, if you were one of the good guys. To explain that a little further… say you were watching football, sports or something along those lines, the person that she would now be going out with would be more the type to be introverted and reading philosophy. That's just an extreme explanation but you get what I mean.
If your girlfriend is focusing on what went wrong with your relationship while she's in that rebound relationship it may be a very good thing for you for two reasons.
If she is with someone who is completely opposite to you it does show that her attention is still focused on you even when she's with the new guy. This situation also gets you a chance to find out what exactly she's looking for.
Now that she's with someone who is different from you as day and night, it is quite possible she was missing something in your relationship. You can actually use this time she is with a rebound relationship to improve yourself.
One thing you do need to do is to let the rebound relationship run its course, because as she spends time with the new guy (the rebound relationship) the more likely it is for her to see the flaws in him. If you are basically nice guy, after a month or so with this rebound relationship, your ex-girlfriend will begin to think that you'd look pretty good after all. And, this is not a matter of “settling” for you…she may see that what she wanted after all was a guy like you.
Don't let it seem that you want to crawl back to her. Let her find out that she really misses the good things that she had in the relationship with you. Always be mature… be nice… behave like a class act in other words. Welcome her back with warm feelings and don't be a jerk. Be a new and improved boyfriend and let her come to you when she’s ready.
There are some things that you can do when your ex-girlfriend is in a rebound relationship. By the way this isn’t just for guys…it can go for women also. Don't try to convince your ex you are the love of her life… if you were, she will discover that on her own. Don't make absurd promises to change. After all, she fell for you for who you were in the first place.
Don't try to force her into saying that the breakup wasn't your fault. She will come to appreciate over the course of weeks or months that maybe it wasn't your entire fault.
Of course never beg to be taken back. Don't over-apologize. Say you're sorry once if you did something wrong. But don't hang on. She knows the real reason she loved you.
Don't despair. Take things in stride. If seeing her in a rebound relationship makes you mad, upset, or want to lash out... turned and walk away… be mature… be a class act through this rebound relationship. It could be a very good sign that she's still in love with you as I stated before, if she's dating someone completely opposite of you.
AS your ex sees how maturely you handle the rebound relationship that they’re in, and that you’re life has moved on…she may just decide that she wants to be a part of it again.
Stranger things have happened and always will in this strange game of love.
